Who Are We

Keene Village Plastics timeline

Back in 2004, Village Plastics was one of the few companies producing 3D printing filament, and were known as an industry leader. At that time, many desktop 3D printer companies obtained their filament from Village Plastics, relabeling it as their own. Village Plastics provided filaments for most of the large consumer hobbyist printers, as well as several companies just getting started at the time.

In December of 2013 3D systems acquired Village Plastics to leverage Village Plastics manufacturing capacities and quality programs with their vision of the consumer 3D printing markets.

In late 2016, 3D Systems announced they were exiting the consumer market space, and no longer producing their Cube line of printers.

In 2017, Village Plastics was acquired by Keene Building Products, which sought to refocus the company as an independent supplier of 3D printer filament. The buyer, Keene Family of Companies, also of Ohio, produces plastic products for the construction industry, and feels there are significant synergies with Village Plastics.

Today the company is looking to re-establish themselves as the materials and quality leader in the 3D printing and Thermoplastic welding rod markets.
